Is a high GPU temperature normal? My Hot Spot exceeds 100°C.
The Hot Spot temperature reads the highest value among dozens of sensors across the GPU die — it is not an average, so it will always read higher than the core temperature.
Under heavy load, a Hot Spot temperature around 100°C is within the normal operating range. The card automatically adjusts clock speeds and fan curves to maintain stability.
The key indicator to watch is throttling: if performance remains stable during gaming or workloads without noticeable drops or crashes, the card is operating normally.
If temperatures consistently approach the limit alongside crashes or clear performance loss, please check:
• Case airflow — whether intake and exhaust are obstructed
• Dust buildup on the heatsink
• Whether your case has adequate fan configuration
If concerns remain, please contact original reseller to do more test.
My GPU fans are not spinning. Is the card faulty?
Most PowerColor graphics cards feature MuteFan (zero-RPM) technology. When GPU temperature is below a set threshold, the fans stop completely to reduce noise, and resume automatically once temperature rises.
Fans not spinning during idle, desktop use, or light workloads is normal behaviour, not a fault.
If the fans remain stopped under heavy load with clearly elevated temperatures, or if only some fans spin, please update to the latest driver first. If the issue persists, submit an RMA for inspection.
My card makes a high-pitched electrical noise (coil whine). Is this a defect?
Coil whine is a common acoustic characteristic of high-performance graphics cards under load. It is a physical property of electronic components, not a manufacturing defect, and does not affect performance or product lifespan.
It is typically most noticeable when frame rates are very high and uncapped — for example in game menus or loading screens.
You may reduce it by:
• Enabling V-Sync or setting an FPS cap in-game or in the driver
• Moderately lowering the power limit
• Ensuring your power supply is of adequate quality and stability
If the noise is a persistent grinding or mechanical friction sound, it may relate to the fan bearing — please submit an RMA for inspection.
I get no display or no signal at boot. How do I troubleshoot?
Please work through the following steps in order:
1. Power off and unplug, then reseat the graphics card and confirm the connector is fully inserted
2. Reseat the PCIe power cables and confirm the connectors are fully engaged
3. Try a separate PCIe power cable for each connector — avoid daisy-chaining from a single cable
4. Test with a different monitor and cable
5. Confirm your display is connected to the graphics card outputs, not the motherboard outputs
6. Once you have display, update to the latest graphics driver
If the issue persists, test the card in another system to isolate the cause. If it still fails, submit an RMA for inspection.
My system hard crashes during use. What should I check?
One common cause is insufficient or improperly connected power delivery.
If your graphics card requires multiple PCIe power connectors, use a separate cable from the power supply for each connector. (Daisy-chaining — using one cable with multiple connectors to feed several inputs — can cause instability under load, as a single cable may not deliver sufficient current.)
Also confirm:
• Your PSU wattage meets the recommended specification for your model, with headroom
• The graphics driver is the latest WHQL version from our download page
• Any overclock settings have been reset to default for testing
• Case cooling and airflow are adequate
If crashes continue after these checks, please contact original reseller to do more test.
I see a BIOS GOP message on my RX 9000 series card at boot. What does it mean?
RX 9000 series graphics cards support UEFI boot mode only. If your motherboard is still set to Legacy/CSM mode, you may see a related message during startup.
To resolve:
1. Enter your motherboard BIOS setup
2. Set boot mode to UEFI and disable CSM (Compatibility Support Module)
3. Confirm your motherboard BIOS is updated to the latest version
4. Save and restart
If the message persists after these changes, please contact original reseller to do more test.
I see artifacts, visual glitches, or corrupted graphics on screen. What causes this?
Visual artifacts can result from driver issues, unstable overclock settings, or a hardware fault. Please try below steps:
1. Remove all overclock settings (GPU and memory) and test at default values
2. Fully remove and reinstall the latest driver
3. Check the GPU temperatures and PC case air flow
4. Test with a different cable in good quality and monitor to rule out signal issues
If artifacts persist at default settings, submit an RMA for inspection. Including photos or a video of the issue with your request will help speed up diagnosis.
My screen flickers or loses signal intermittently. How do I troubleshoot?
Please check the following:
1. Try a different DisplayPort or HDMI cable in good quality, and confirm the cable is rated for your resolution and refresh rate
2. Lower the refresh rate in display settings to test for a bandwidth limitation
3. Disable FreeSync / G-Sync to test
4. Update both the graphics driver and your monitor firmware
5. Test with a different monitor
6. If connect by multi monitors, please adjust them in same frash rate(60Hz or 120Hz)
If the issue occurs only with a specific monitor or cable, it is likely a compatibility issue. If it occurs across all configurations, submit an RMA for inspection.
How many power connectors does my card need, and what PSU wattage is recommended?
Power connector requirements and recommended PSU wattage vary by model. Please check the Specifications section on the product page for your specific card.
When installing:
• Use a separate cable from the power supply for each connector — avoid daisy-chaining
• Allow at least 20% headroom above the recommended wattage for system stability
• Use the cables supplied with your power supply; do not mix modular cables between different PSU brands
Can I install a GPU holder?
Yes. A GPU holder helps reduce sag caused by the cards weight. When installing:
• The bracket should contact the shroud or backplate — never apply pressure directly to the PCB
• Adjust to lightly support the card; do not lift it or apply excessive force
• After installation, confirm the card remains fully seated in the PCIe slot and that power cables are not under tension
Using a third-party support bracket does not affect your warranty. However, damage caused by improper installation is not covered.
Where can I find BIOS files for my card? Can I flash it myself?
PowerClor do not provide VBIOS files for manual flashing, as incorrect firmware updates can cause permanent damage to the graphics card.

We recommend using the WHQL-certified drivers provided on our site for stability. For specific game compatibility issues, the latest driver released directly by AMD may also be used.
